About Capricorn

§ 02

Capricorn is the tenth astrological sign in the zodiac, which is an arc of sky that extends approximately 30° west from the vernal equinox and is one of the twelve signs of the modern zodiac. Under the tropical zodiac, the sun transits this area between approximately December 22 and January 19 each year. This sign spans the 270th to 300th degree of celestial longitude. In Hebrew, Capricorn is known as "גדי" (Gadi). In Latin, the word for Capricorn is "Capricornus," which is a combination of the words "capra" (goat) and "cornu" (horn). In Sanskrit, Capricorn is called "Makara," which is often depicted as a sea monster or a crocodile. In Chinese astrology, Capricorn is associated with the (羲) year of the Chinese zodiac, which is represented by the rooster. Individuals born under the sign of Capricorn are often described as disciplined, responsible, and ambitious, with a strong sense of duty and a tendency towards conservatism.
