Clematis Erecta

Clematis erecta, commonly known as upright clematis or erect clematis, is a species of flowering plant in the buttercup family, Ranunculaceae. It is native to eastern North America, where it can be found in a variety of habitats, including woodlands, thickets, and along stream banks. The plant is characterized by its erect, herbaceous stems, which can grow up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) tall, and its small, greenish-white flowers that bloom in the spring. The fruits are distinctive, being clusters of erect, feathery, tan-colored achenes that persist into the winter, providing visual interest and seed for birds. In Hebrew, the plant is known as קלמטיס זקוף (Klematis Zekuf). Other translations include clematis erecta in French, aufrechte waldrebe in German, and clematide eretta in Italian.
