The Command Module (CM) was a spacecraft component used in NASA's Apollo program to transport astronauts to and from lunar orbit and back to Earth. It was the control center and the only part of the spacecraft that returned intact to Earth. The Command Module was a conical pressure vessel with a blunt base and a forward heat shield. It was designed to support up to three astronauts and their equipment during the mission. The term "Command Module" in Hebrew is מודול הפיקוד. In other relevant languages, it is known as Modul de comando in Spanish, Module de commande in French, and Kommandomodul in German. The Command Module was a critical component of the Apollo spacecraft, providing life support, communication, and navigation capabilities. It was launched atop a Saturn V rocket and was the only part of the spacecraft that was recovered after splashdown in the ocean.
