About Conjuration

§ 02

Conjuration is a term used in various contexts, primarily in magic, religion, and the occult, to describe the act of summoning or invoking spirits, demons, or other supernatural entities. In Hebrew, this term can be translated as קונז'ורציה (konjuratsiya) or הזמנת רוחות (hizmat ruhot), which literally means "summoning of spirits." In Latin, the term is conjuratio, which is derived from the verb coniurare, meaning "to swear together" or "to summon." In French, it is conjuration, and in German, it is Beschwörung. Conjuration often involves rituals, incantations, and the use of magical tools or symbols to bring forth these entities for various purposes, such as gaining knowledge, protection, or power. Historically, conjuration has been a part of many cultural and religious practices, including those found in ancient Mesopotamia, Egypt, and various indigenous traditions. It is also a common theme in literature, folklore, and modern fantasy genres.
