About George Washington

George Washington (February 22, 1732 – December 14, 1799) was an American political leader, military general, statesman, and Founding Father who served as the first president of the United States from 1789 to 1797. He led the Patriot army to victory in the American Revolutionary War against the British and later presided over the 1787 convention that drafted the United States Constitution. He is often referred to as the "Father of His Country" for his numerous contributions to the birth of the nation. In Hebrew, he is known as ג'ורג' וושינגטון (Jorj Washington). In French, he is called George Washington, and in German, he is known as George Washington. Washington's leadership was instrumental in shaping the early United States, and his legacy continues to be celebrated for his commitment to republicanism and the principles of democracy.
