About Hassan Nasrallah

§ 02

Hassan Nasrallah (Arabic: حسن نصرالله) is the current Secretary-General of the Lebanese political and paramilitary organization Hezbollah. Born on August 31, 1960, in the Bourj Hammoud district of Beirut, Lebanon, Nasrallah has been a prominent figure in Lebanese politics since the 1980s. He succeeded Subhi Tufayli as the leader of Hezbollah in 1992 and has been the organization's Secretary-General since then. Nasrallah is known for his strong oratory skills and his ability to mobilize support for Hezbollah's political and military agenda. He has played a significant role in the organization's involvement in the Lebanese Civil War, the 2006 Lebanon War, and the Syrian Civil War. Nasrallah is often referred to as "al-Sayyid" (السيّد), which means "the leader" or "the master" in Arabic, a title that reflects his status within the Shia Muslim community. In Hebrew, his name is transliterated as חסן נסראללה (Chasan Nasrala). In Persian, it is حسن نصرالله (Hasan Nasrollah).
