About Ukrainian

Ukrainian (Ukrainian: українська мова, romanized: ukrayins'ka mova) is an Eastern Slavic language that is the native language of Ukrainians and the official language of Ukraine. It is the second most widely spoken Slavic language after Russian, with approximately 40 million native speakers worldwide. Ukrainian uses the Cyrillic script for its alphabet, which consists of 33 letters. The language has a rich literary tradition, with notable works dating back to the 12th century. Ukrainian is also one of the official languages of the European Union due to Ukraine's association agreement with the EU. In Hebrew, Ukrainian is translated as אוקראינית (Ukrainit). Other relevant translations include ukrainsk in Swedish, ukrainisch in German, and ukrainien in French.
